After being kicked out of her old school in LA Buffy and her mom moves to Sunnydale. Buffy is the Slayer and only 2 people know that her new Watcher Giles and a brooding 240 year old vampire named Angel. They first met when he followed her behind the Bronze and told her that he's not bad and doesn't want to hurt her. She doesn't know he's a vampire until they kiss for the first time. He pulls away after a few seconds of kissing and turns to Buffy with a vamp face on. She tries to hunt him down, but he explains to her that he has a soul and hasn't fed on humans for decades. She believes him and she starts to trust him more. Angel says he can't be around her because he'll loose control, so they kiss goodbye and they don't see each other until when the master tries to free himself and bring hell on Earth. She overhears Angel and Giles talking about how she's going to fight the master and die. She goes to the Master and dies. but Angel and Xander bring her back through CPR. A few months later Buffy and Angel decide to date. It goes well for a while until her 17th birthday where they sleep together and he has one moment of true happiness  and looses his soul, so he goes evil. He terrorizes her and wants her dead. Miss Calender wants to restore Angel's soul so he can't d arm to anyone anymore. She finds the ritual on the internet, she prints out a copy and puts one it onto disk, but then Angel comes and kills her, destroys the ritual on the computer and the piece of paper as well, but he doesn't know about the disk. A while later Willow finds it and shows it to Giles and they decide to do the ritual. When they have an attempt at it Angel and his gang attack everyone and puts Willow into a coma. Buffy comes and sees them, then the police come and think she was the one who did it. She runs from the police and later, Principal Snyder expels her for causing so much trouble. She now has no school and is wanted by police, and her mom kicked her out of the house because she found out she was a Slayer and she needs to save the world again, because Angel is going to attempt to open a stone demon's mouth (Acathla) to swallow up the world. Willow awakes from the coma and is ready to do the ritual. Buffy and Angel start fighting and Acathla's mouth starts to open, then the ritual to restore Angel's soul is complete, and the only way to stop the world from ending is Angel's blood. Buffy and Angel kiss then she puts her sword through his heart and sends him to hell. She then packs her bags and goes to LA for about 2 months because she has no house and no school. Soon after that a guy asks out Buffy and gives her a claddagh ring, just like the one Angel gave her. She takes it to the place where Angel was sent to Hell and drops it on the floor then walks out, just then someone falls down, it's Angel, he's back from Hell. Buffy and Angel get back together for a bit but the other's don't know until Xander sees them together at Angel's place. Buffy and Angel go great until just before the Prom when Buffy's mom talks to Angel about his and Buffy's relationship and clearly she wants it to end. He has a difficult decision to make. He then decides to break up with her. Buffy takes it really badly, because he's going to leave Sunnydale after the Ascension. When out patrolling Angel gets shot with a crossbow by Faith which misses his heart but poisons him. Buffy does some research about it and the only way to cure him was to drain the blood of a slayer. She tries to get Faith's blood, but she fights her and stabs her on the roof, she falls down on a moving truck and her blood spills everywhere, so she can't cure Angel with Faith's blood. She told Angel to drink her, but he doesn't want to but she forces him. After he knew what he was doing he ran her to the hospital and she was alright. She saw Faith in a hospital bed and she was in a coma. After the Ascension Angel just looked at her and walked away.
